Pakistan’s Current Account Deficit shrinks by 39% MoM to $623Mn in April

Pakistan reports Current Account Deficit of US$623Mn during the month of Apr‘22 as compared to a deficit of US$1,015 mn in Mar’22. The decline in the Current Account Deficit is attributed to the hike in Workers’ Remittances (by $315mn) & a fall in imports (by $246mn).

On cumulative basis, the country reported a Deficit of US$ 13,779 Mn during Jul-Apr FY22.
